Selangor, Malaysia, February 06, 2013. For the third consecutive year, Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc has won Buyers Laboratory Inc.’s (BLI’s) coveted A3 MFP Line of the Year award. Once each year, BLI, the leading global provider of information and testing services to the digital imaging industry, recognizes the vendors whose product lines are the best based on the results of individual models. Furthermore, the provider of tailored solutions of the entire document life cycle for clients in the office and production printing area has been awarded three individual Pick honors for the Konica Minolta bizhub C364, C454 and C554. “The fact that BLI awarded us A3 MFP Line of the Year the third year in a row as well as individual Picks of the Year for several of our products not only makes us really proud and happy, it also certifies that we are on the right track with our constant pursuit of excellence as a global leader in the highly competitive MFP and printer marketplace”, says CK Lim, National Sales Manager, Konica Minolta Business Solutions (M) Sdn. Considered are the breadth of the vendor’s line and its ability to provide quality products suitable to a broad spectrum of customer needs, from low-volume to high-volume. “What Konica Minolta has achieved with a third consecutive A3 MFP Line of the Year Award is nearly unprecedented,” said BLI Managing Editor Daria Hoffman. “In the 26-year history of the award, Konica Minolta is one of only two vendors to earn the award three years in a row and it is the only vendor to do so in the past decade.”
“All in all, Konica Minolta’s current lineup of A3 MFPs includes 12 products that have earned Pick awards—more than any other vendor—and 14 products that have received Highly Recommended ratings,” said George Mikolay, BLI’s senior product editor of A3/Copier MFPs. “It has Picks in virtually every speed band up to 75 ppm in both color and black, so regardless of the speed of product you’re looking for, Konica Minolta is tough to beat.”
In total, BLI has run more than 2 million impressions on these Pick-winning engines with impressive results. “When all currently available tested A3 models are considered from top to bottom, Konica Minolta has the best reliability record of all eligible vendors, proving that it offers the quality buyers consider more important than any other,” said Hoffman. “And the fact that Konica Minolta submits the majority of its units for testing as soon as they are introduced shows that it believes in their products, and that belief is continually backed up by their performance in the lab,” said Mikolay. In addition to providing outstanding reliability, Konica Minolta devices have user-replaceable color drums across every speed band, which means more uptime because service never needs to come in to replace drums.
Additionally, Konica Minolta´s bizhub C364, bizhub C454 and bizhub C554 have won Winter 2013 BLI “Picks” in the 31- to 40-ppm, 41- to 50-ppm and 51- to 60-ppm speed ranges, respectively. Joining the bizhub C654 and bizhub C754, which won “Picks” in the summer of 2012, the three latest engines proved highly reliable over the course of nearly 500,000 impressions combined. They feature user-replaceable drums, boosting productivity by eliminating the need for service calls other devices require to replace these components.
“These models excel in so many ways,” said Pete Emory, BLI’s manager of lab testing. “The control panel is the best we’ve seen from any vendor, with a choice of three user interfaces and fast and easy touch and swipe navigation. And it’s great that Konica Minolta gives users a choice of hard keys or touch screen selections.”
As has long been the case with Konica Minolta colour products, colour output is better than most. In addition, the engines demonstrated best-in-class productivity when producing booklets and their tested scan speeds are among the fastest. The bizhub C364 and bizhub C454 also proved highly productive when printing BLI’s job stream, which simulates real-world office usage with typical documents. “Add in the fully customizable print drivers and robust feature sets, and it’s easy to see why these models stand out from the rest,” said Mikolay.
