Air-cushion for bizhub i-Series packaging wins Japan Packaging Contest

The Good Packaging Contest is hosted by the Japan Packaging Institute. Winners are chosen from various viewpoints such as material, structuring, craftmanship, packaging suitability, environmental consciousness, design, logistics, sales promotion and idea.

This time, the new packaging solution for bizhub iSeries has been awarded. As the word describes, there is air inside, so it plays a role as a cushion and it protects machines securely. Shifting materials from the formed polystyrene previously used to the new air-cushions helps to reduce the environmental impact by reducing CO2 emission that of yearly conversion is about 438t. Also, the total volume of materials used is much less than before so that it also reduces storage space equivariant to that of 200 loads that dump trucks could hold.

By winning the award, Konica Minolta is allowed to use the GP mark to promote our product reliability to customers. GP mark can be used until the end of December 2025 worldwide.
