Konica Minolta extends next-generation Multi-function printers Line-up with Open Platform

(Petaling Jaya, 3 July 2014) Konica Minolta is always improving its line-up to embrace its customers’ needs. Now the new bizhub monochrome e-series consist of a total of 7 models multi-function printers from 754e, 654e, 554e, 454e, 364e to 284e have been upgraded to match the latest application platform and compatible feature set of the Konica Minolta A3 line-up. The new enhanced bizhub monochrome e-series delivers high performance to help improve productivity demands of the next generation office.

The new bizhub monochrome e-series boasts first class usability, outstanding performance for improved efficiency, cutting edge mobility, security and better solutions integration. It now shares the similar user functionality and design with the other Konica Minolta A3 colour and monochrome range.

Easy-to-understand, easy-to-use smart user interface

These A3 new enhanced monochrome bizhub e-series are part of Konica Minolta’s next-generation MFPs family that incorporates the firm’s INFO-Palette control panel and Open Api (Open Application Platform Interface) for better solutions intergration.

Konica Minolta evolutionary INFO-Palette control panel design features enhanced multi-touch functionality that’s as easy as operating a tablet PC. A new bizhub monochrome e-series features a 9” colour screen with intuitive multi-touch functionality. Users can swipe, drag & drop, tap & toggle, switch easily between map scroll and tab screen menus to control printing, copying, scanning and other functions.

In addition, the new bizhub monochrome e-series is equipped with our proprietary bizhub Extended Solution Technology (bEST). This open platform technology allows seemless integration with Konica Minolta software programs and third party software developers. This software helps speed up workflow, manages print production, performs account tracking and cost recovery, creates direct mail promotions and more.

Advanced office MFPs with speed

New bizhub monochrome e-series is designed for high-speed, high-volume, black-and-white printing, and come packed with capabilities. These capabilities enable small and medium sized business and enterprises to integrate the print management and workflow with their existing business applications.

The new bizhub monochrome e-series boasts high speed single pass duplex scanning for hardcopy intensive workflows. It also achieves a longer consumable life and continuously maintain high image quality over the long term. Furthermore, they reduce operating times and running costs to lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

Productivity and connectivity

The new bizhub monochrome e-series represents an evolution in MFP technology. They come with Konica Minolta’s IWS (Internal Web Server) technology. With IWS, users can develop lightweight applications and also bizhub connectors to complement the bizhubs’ core functions. These applications and bizhub connectors are easily accessible from the device’s touchscreen control panel and run on an embedded web browser; no external servers are required.

The new bizhub e-series allows user to send and retrieve information directly to and from the cloud services such as GoogleApps, Evernote as well as SharePoint 2007/2010 servers, USB devices, smartphones and tablets. To further enhance office productivity, user can use control panel access to Konica Minolta own developed applications, including PageScope Mobile to print or scan documents on the go from multiple mobile platforms – an important advantage for medical, legal and educational professionals who work from widely separated workplaces or collaborate from home.
