Based on the inaugural Nikkei SDGs Management Survey on the entire 637 publicly-listed Japanese companies by Nikkei Inc., the leading business media, an outside jury committee made assessment in selecting “front-runner companies that vigorously addressing SDGs management and tying their efforts to corporate value enhancement.” Konica Minolta, Inc. has been awarded five stars in the overall ranking in the first SDGs Management Survey by Nikkei Inc. KMI President and CEO, Mr. Shoei Yamana received the Grand Prix trophy at the awards ceremony.  

The award-winning companies are as follows:
Grand Prix: Konica Minolta, Inc.
SDGs strategy & economic value award: Omron Corporation
Social value award: Aeon Co., Ltd.
Environmental value award: Ricoh Co., Ltd.
 

The awards were given during the ceremony on December 5, 2019, at Tokyo Big Sight. Yamana-san received the Grand Prix trophy.
 

The jury panel highly appraised Konica Minolta’s initiatives in every aspect of the review: SDGs strategy & economic value, Social value, Environmental value and Governance. KMI earned the highest assessment “S++” in three categories. Besides that, KMI is the only company that earned five starts both in Smart Work Management Survey and SDGs Management Survey by Nikkei.
 

The Grand Prix trophy was exhibited in the Konica Minolta stand at the Eco Products 2019 show (December 5-7) in Tokyo Big Sight. Many booth visitors and guests were interested in and praised our efforts. The chairperson of the jury panel compared Konica Minolta to a gymnastic champion with all-around world title who is quite strong in every routine.
 

In the future, while continuing to take into account for economic, social, and environmental factors, Konica Minolta will aim to link its business opportunities to both the enhancement of sustainable corporate values and the attainment of a sustainable society.
