Konica Minolta’s Master Stroke Of Brand Awareness In The Corporate Playing Field

Kuala Lumpur 13-16 OCTOBER 2011 For the second time in Malaysia, the world's top ranking female golfers of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) teed off to another impressive start. Following the success of the inaugural tournament last year, the prestigious golf tournament of Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2011 took center stage once again on the lush playing field of KLGCC (Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club).

Attracted as many as 72 world-class players from 26 countries, the main sponsor Sime Darby, together with co-sponsors and official partners such as Konica Minolta, are now more than committed to hosting this international golfing spectacular in Malaysia for many more years to come. With a high caliber field of professional star golfers such as Jimin Kang, Stacy Lewis, Suzann Petterson, Paula Creamer, Michelle Wie, Ai Miyazato, Natalie Gulbis, Cristie Kerr and world No. 1 Yani Tseng, Sime Darvy LPGA Malaysia 2011 has definitely raised the image of international golf status for Malaysia.

In doing so, the star-studded tournament has drawn a respectable audience of dedicated local and international fans as well as worldwide media attention during the course of the four eventful days. This global golf extravaganza suited Konica Minolta's corporate brand awareness program to the tee apart from assisting as an LPGA official partner in daily documentations of the tournament flow of events.

"Participating in Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2011 as one of the official partners has always been a part of Konica Minolta corporate brand building strategy" said the Marketing Manager of Konica Minolta Business Solutions (M) Sdn. Bhd. (KMBS), Mr. Adrian Hah. He continued to reveal that KMBS has already embarked on a corporate brand awareness program this year reaching out to multifunctional printer and production printer users alike. Commenced with this program early February are billboards across urban centers of West and East Malaysia.

Similar to this nationwide coverage, A-boards, official program and various sponsorship printed materials with Konica Minolta corporate identity were also placed in and around KLGCC during the championship for extra branding mileage. Mr. Adrian Hah expressed that such valuable exposures within this prominent event has provided Konica Minolta the opportunity to enjoy brand awareness amongst corporate spectators and press media.

As an official partner, Konica Minolta's bizhub multifunctional printer was also named The Official Office Equipment of the event. Given the sole-status, a bizhub multifunctional printer was installed within the LPGA media office to provide document management for free.

This generous move presented an on-site experience for the LPGA staff members to discover how effective bizhub's solutions can be in easing off their rapid event flow. Even within a short space of four days, bizhub solutions contributed remarkable documentation results. Documentations such as managing and sorting of participant's personalized itinerary, daily event bulletins, result update charts, crew member guidelines, registration forms and media releases are some of the many printed materials that kept every concerned LPGA individual abreast of the tournament's on-going activities.

By the end of the four-day tournament, world No. 4 Na Yeon Choi was crowned the winner of Sime Darby's LPGA Malaysia 2011. With one stroke better than world No. 1 Yani Tseng, South Korean Na Yeon Choi was presented the trophy and winning cash prize of RM900,000.00 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. While the South Korean was attracting global admiration for her resounding success, Konica Minolta was also enjoying much attention. Quite evidently the master stroke of Konica Minolta's continuing brand awareness in the corporate playing field of this prominent event.
